HANOVER (WBSM) — An elderly man was killed in Hanover this morning after a tree collapsed on the trailer he was in during today’s storm.

According to Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz, Hanover Police responded at about 9:47 a.m. today for a report of a large tree falling outside of a workplace on 99 Industrial Way during the heavy rainfall and high wind gusts of the storm.

The caller reported the tree had fallen on a small travel trailer and a man was trapped inside.

Hanover Police and the Hanover Fire Department responded to the scene and were able to pull the victim from the trailer. The man, identified as Robert Horky, 89, of Hingham, had suffered severe head trauma.

Horky was transported to South Shore Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

An investigation by Hanover Police and Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Plymouth County’s D.A. Office is ongoing.
