The Stacey Ann Leroy Foundation (SALF) golf tournament is back for its eighth year on Friday, June 24.  All proceeds from the tournament will support scholarship programs and other initiatives that help local youths academically and to help them stay safe.

According to South Coast Today.com, '“The SALF was established in 2008, through the support of family and friends, in memory of Stacey who died in a tragic car accident at the age of 16,” said SALF Vice-President and family member of Stacey’s, Stephanie Hewins."

Over the past eight years, the Foundation has provided over $70,000 in scholarships to communities in the greater Middleboro/Lakeville area and sponsored several educational programs.  The foundation also participated in various activities in the local community.  In 2013, the Foundation, in conjunction with a donation from Plymouth Rock Insurance, sponsored over 25 students who attended ‘In-Control’, a crash prevention-training program.  In 2014, the Foundation board voted to continue to allocate funds to support safe driving programs. The goal of the foundation is to heighten the awareness of the danger of distracted driving to help reduce the tragic loss of lives due to accidents caused by distracted driving.

Tournament registration will start at the Lakeville Country Club (44 Clear Pond Road) at 1pm on Friday, June 24 with a set start time at  2pm.

Registration forms are available at the Lakeville Country Club and New Concepts Hair Salon on 111 Center Street in Middleboro.

To make a raffle prize or other type of donation, or for more information, contact Stephanie Hewins at the salon at 508-946-2353 or email shearsteph33@yahoo.com.
