
New York Man Charged in Bridgewater Juvenile Rape Case
BRIDGEWATER (WBSM) — A New York man has been charged with rape and other sex crimes against a Bridgewater juvenile.
Bridgewater Police Chief Christopher Delmonte said that detectives from his department working with investigators from the New York State Police arrested Geoffrey I. Gerber, 29, of Hicksville, New York following a five-month investigation.
Charges Filed Against Geoffrey Gerber
Gerber is charged with disseminating obscene matter to a minor, obscene telephone calls or electronic communication, enticing a child under 16, posting or exhibiting a child in a sexual act, and aggravated rape of a child with a 10-year age difference.

Bridgewater Police Investigation Details
According to Delmonte, the investigation began when the victim contacted Bridgewater Police. He said Detective Peter Balboni, with assistance from the Plymouth County District Attorney's Office and the Children's Advocacy Center, “determined Gerber had contact with the juvenile victim through multiple social media platforms.”
Collaboration with New York Authorities
Gerber was transported to Bridgewater from the Nassau County Sheriff’s Department in New York on August 14. He was being held after New York State Police arrested him on a warrant obtained by Bridgewater Police detectives.
Gerber was then booked at BPD headquarters, transported to the Plymouth County Correctional Facility in Plymouth, and then taken to Brockton District Court.
