Freetown Man With History of Break-In Arrests Charged Again
FREETOWN (1420 WBSM) — A Freetown man with a history of arrests for breaking into homes, including once allegedly beating a man with his prosthetic arm that has a hook for a hand, has once again been arrested for allegedly breaking into a home.
Freetown Police say they arrested Brandon W. DeMoranville, 36, and have charged him with breaking into a home in town earlier this week.
According to police, officers responded at around 7:15 a.m. on Thursday, October 20 to a report of a suspicious person entering an unoccupied home on Abraham Avenue. Police say officers searched the home and found DeMoranville hiding inside, and that he had a flashlight and stolen property in his possession.
DeMoranville was arrested and charged with breaking and entering in the daytime to commit a felony and larceny from a building. He was to be arraigned at the Fall River Justice Center.

In July of 2017, DeMoranville was arrested for allegedly stealing a power washer from a resident’s garage, and when confronted by a neighbor, DeMoranville allegedly assaulted the man with his prosthetic right forearm, which contained a metal hook.
The neighbor then detained DeMoranville until police arrived, and DeMoranville allegedly later also made threats against the neighbor, leading police to charge him with breaking and entering a building in the nighttime for a felony, assault with a dangerous weapon and threatening to commit a crime.
At that time, police also applied for arrest warrants charging DeMoranville in four other incidents of breaking into vehicles and sheds that had been ongoing in that area, including another count of breaking and entering a building in the nighttime for a felony, three counts of breaking and entering a vehicle in the nighttime for a felony, two counts of attempt to commit a crime, and malicious damage to a motor vehicle.
