Fire officials in Mattapoisett say a Wednesday morning fire at 87 County Road appeared to be caused by an electrical problem.

Chief Andrew Murray says when firefighters arrived, there was fire seen coming from second floor windows.  He says the occupants of the single-family home all got out safely, and no injuries were reported.

Murray said the second floor of the home was pretty much gutted. He estimated damage at around $200,000.

Mattapoisett was assisted by Marion and Fairhaven fire crews.

Chief Murray says firefighters ran into problems when the first fire hydrant they attempted to use was completely frozen.  They eventually used another hydrant about an eighth of a mile down the road.
