
This 5-Day Free Music Festival Is Taking Over Tabor Academy in Marion This Week
MARION (WBSM) — Free music on the bay returns this week as world-class musicians gather in Marion for the annual Buzzards Bay Musicfest.
The 28th annual Musicfest will take place July 15 through July 19 at the Fireman Performing Arts Center at Tabor Academy in Marion. Nightly performances Wednesday through Saturday will take place at 7:30 p.m., with a Sunday matinee at 2 p.m.
The five performances will feature different lineups, such as a full orchestra, small chamber ensemble, or nine-piece swing band.
The performances are all free to attend, and no RSVP is required.
The 2026 Buzzards Bay Musicfest Lineup
- Wednesday, July 15, 7:30 p.m.: Orchestra music, featuring the works of Beethoven, Grieg and Haydn
- Thursday, July 16, 7:30 p.m.: Chamber music, featuring Telemann’s Sonata IV in D Minor and Sonata III in D Major, Poulenc, Mozart, and Beethoven
- Friday, July 17, 7:30 p.m.: The Buzzards Bay Musicfest Swing Band presents “An Evening at the Movies,” featuring soundtrack songs such as “My Favorite Things,” “When You Wish Upon a Star,” “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” “Moon River,” and more
- Saturday, July 18, 7:30 p.m.: Chamber music, featuring the works of Françaix, Dohnányi and Franck
- Sunday, July 19, 2 p.m.: Orchestra music, featuring the works of Beethoven and Mozart
