FALL RIVER (WBSM) — Fall River Police have shared body-worn camera footage of officers who responded to Sunday night’s deadly fire at the Gabriel House Assisted Living Facility that claimed the lives of 10 people.
Police said that 11 officers and two sergeants responded to the scene on the night of July 13 and "exemplified professionalism, bravery and selflessness in the face of danger.”
They said the footage “offers only a narrow view of the challenging and chaotic conditions faced by first responders that evening.”
The police who entered the facility were “equipped with flashlights, explosive door-kicks and exceptional courage,” police wrote.
A total of 10 residents of the facility perished in the fire when Brenda Copper, 66, passed away Wednesday after she had been hospitalized in critical condition with burns all over her body.
