
Eighth Victim Identified in Fatal Fall River Gabriel House Fire
FALL RIVER (WBSM) — An eighth victim has been identified in the fatal fire at the Gabriel House Assisted Living Residence in Fall River.
A total of nine residents of the facility perished in the fire that occurred Sunday evening; the Bristol County District Attorney’s office previously identified seven of the deceased: Rui Albernaz, 64; Ronald Codega, 61; Margaret Duddy, 69; Robert King, 78; Kim Mackin, 71; Richard Rochon, 78; and Eleanor Willett, 86.
Today, the D.A.’s Office identified Joseph Wilansky, 77, as the eighth victim. The identity of the ninth victim, a 70-year-old female, is still not being released as notification of next of kin is still pending.

Another resident, identified by the D.A.’s Office as a 66-year-old woman, remains hospitalized in critical condition. In addition, WPRI reported that 63-year-old Brenda Cropper was “burned from head to toe” and is on life support with about a 10 percent chance of survival.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
