Fall River Man Arrested for Indecent Assault at Dartmouth Carnival

DARTMOUTH (WBSM) — A Fall River man was arrested at the Dartmouth carnival over the weekend on charges of indecent assault and battery.

According to Dartmouth Police, officers assigned to the carnival detail outside the Dartmouth Mall were alerted at about 10:08 p.m. on Saturday, May 4 to a disturbance at the carnival.

Police said Jeffrey Lehman, 54, of Fall River allegedly followed a victim and her friend for a period of time before he reportedly approached the victim and began touching her inappropriately.

Lehman then allegedly continued making inappropriate comments and placed money down the victim’s shirt.

Police said other attendees of the carnival realized what was going on and “created a barrier between the victim and Lehman.”

Once officers arrived on the scene, they placed Lehman under arrest.

He is charged with indecent assault and battery on a person 14 or over and accosting or annoying another person.
