Fall River Police Arrest Repeat Offender on Drug Charges
FALL RIVER (WBSM) — Fall River Police arrested a man with a criminal history on new drug offenses this week following an investigation.
According to police, Detective Christopher Teves and other detectives from the Fall River Police Community Suppression Team executed a search warrant at 1102 Dwelly Street, first floor.
The focus of the investigation was Damien Brooks, 46, as well as a woman also believed to be at the residence.
The warrant led to police seizing about 30.62 grams of cocaine, along with a small amount of fentanyl, psilocybin mushrooms and $1,258 in cash.
The woman was also found to be in possession of clonazepam pills.
Brooks was arrested and charged with trafficking cocaine more than 18 grams but less than 36 grams, possession of a Class A drug (subsequent offense) and possession of a Class C drug (subsequent offense).
The woman was summonsed for the charge of possession of a Class C drug.
In January 2016, WBSM reported that Brooks was arrested following a traffic stop in which he was found to have a suspended license and an active warrant for his arrest. He was also found with a black replica handgun that matched in robberies that had recently occurred. At the time, police said Brooks was allegedly responsible for six robberies.
He was already in jail awaiting trial on three robbery charges in February 2016 when he was charged with two more robberies on his 38th birthday.
