Two Fall River bridges will be undergoing repairs in the coming weeks, the Massachusetts Department of Transportation announced Wednesday.

From Sunday, March 12 until Friday, March 31, MassDOT will be performing overnight bridge repairs on both the President Avenue Bridge (Route 6) and the Meridian Street Bridge over Route 24.

The maintenance will take place from Sunday night through Friday morning, with no work planned on Friday and Saturday nights.

The work will take place from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.

According to MassDOT, there will be temporary lane and shoulder closures in place on Route 24, both northbound and southbound, during the maintenance. It may be down to one travel lane during those times.

Drivers should expect delays and reduced speed in the work zones.

The work is also dependent on weather conditions.
