EASTON (WBSM) — Easton Police are investigating after suspected human remains were found Wednesday in a wooded area.

According to Easton Police Chief Keith Boone, the department received a report at about 12:50 p.m. on May 1 of potential human remains discovered in the area of 100 Summer Street.

Police said the remains were located by a resident in a brook adjacent to their property.

Detectives from the Easton Police Department and Massachusetts State Police Crime Services responded to the scene. The remains were collected by the State Medical Examiner’s Office and Boone said they would be tested to confirm if they are human.

Police are not releasing any further information at this time, Boone said.
