
Person Dead After Four-Alarm House Fire in Easton
UPDATE (January 14): The victim has been identified by Bristol County District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III as Sharon Cerullo, 74, the sole resident of the home.
EASTON (WBSM) — A person is dead following a four-alarm fire at a home in Easton Thursday night.
Emergency Crews Respond to Medical Call Turned Fire
The Easton Fire Department was dispatched to 44 North Main Street for a medical call just after 9:20 p.m. on January 8. Firefighters arrived to find heavy fire at the one-and-a-half-story, single-family home.
An adult was found deceased inside the home. Officials did not disclose any identifying information about the victim, but said that the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner “will conduct a formal identification procedure and determine the cause and manner of death.”

Firefighters Battle Four-Alarm Blaze for Hours
The fire went to four alarms and was brought under control after about two hours. Firefighters remained on the scene until the early-morning hours Friday to extinguish hotspots.
State and Local Agencies Investigate Cause of Fire
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Easton Fire Department, Easton Police, Massachusetts State Police fire investigators assigned to the State Fire Marshal’s Office, and State Police detectives assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office.
