Four people were hospitalized following a disturbance Taunton State Hospital.

Taunton Police say they received a call for assistance around 5:30 p.m. Sunday.

Officers along with Troopers from The Massachusetts State Police responded to the Goss Building where the distrubance was reported.

The caller, who is a staff member, told police the fourth floor unit may have been compromised and they were initiating a lockdown.

Police say that when officers arrived they found that peace had been restored by staff from the Department of Youth Services, which runs the facility.

One resident and three staff members received minor injuries and they were taken to Morton Hospital for treatment.

Police say the incident remains under investigation by personnel from the Department of Youth Services.
