New Bedford Man Arrested for Causing Disturbance While Armed

NEW BEDFORD — A New Bedford man is arrested after causing a disturbance while armed.

New Bedford Police observed a man causing a disturbance and arguing with another man in the area of 7 Nelson Street on Tuesday, March 5 at about 9:41 a.m.

The man causing the disturbance, 43-year-old Steven Michael Morales of Bluefield Street in New Bedford, was placed under arrest. A subsequent search of Morales yielded a knife and a BB or pellet gun that police say resembled an actual firearm.

Morales was charged with disturbing the peace while armed and carrying of certain weapons or instruments on a person or in a vehicle.
