Dartmouth Woman Arrested in Florida Murder

Massachusetts State Police have announced that a Dartmouth woman wanted for the murder of a Florida man has been taken into custody.

23-year-old Desiree Tedder of Dartmouth was arrested Wednesday after a Florida murder warrant was issued in the investigation of a missing person who was a suspected homicide victim.

Massachusetts State Trooper David Reis of the Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section assisted New Bedford Police and Pensacola Police in locating Tedder in Dartmouth. She was booked at the New Bedford Police station on a fugitive from justice warrant.

Prosecutors will arrange for Tedder’s rendition to Florida to face the murder charge there.

Tedder has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of 23-year-old Drulmauert Mims, whose body was found buried in a backyard of a home in Warrington, Florida. He had been missing since March 29.

Tedder is being held on one count of second-degree murder, but State Attorney Bill Eddins said she will face first-degree murder charges once she's relocated and indicted in Escambia County.
