Dartmouth Police Close To Identifying Woman Found On Golf Course

Dartmouth Police are close to releasing the name of a woman who was found unconscious Monday afternoon, lying in the golf course at the New Bedford Country Club. 

Det. Kyle Costa tells WBSM, investigators believe they have identified the woman, who was pronounced dead later Monday at Charlton Memorial Hospital,  She was described as being in her fifties and heavy-set. 

Police are now looking for further confirmation and are notifying family members. 

Det. Costa expects to release the woman's name no later than Thursday.  He says media reports this week about the incident helped police greatly in identifying the woman.
