CARVER (WBSM) — Carver Police have arrested a Marion man on a charge of open and gross lewdness after he was allegedly exposing himself and performing a lewd act at a local beach.

According to Carver Police Chief Marc Duphily, the department responded at about 5:40 p.m. on Friday, June 20 to a report of a male exposing himself and performing a lewd act at Sampson’s Pond on Lakeview Street.

He said officers responded to the beach but learned that the suspect had left the area. A BOLO alert was then issued and within 25 minutes, the suspect was located by Marion Police and identified, Duphily said.

The investigation led Carver Police to obtain an arrest warrant for John Senna, 36, of Marion. He was taken into custody at about 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 21.

Senna is expected to be arraigned today in Wareham District Court.

"This case is a great example of strong collaboration between local police departments," Chief Duphily said. "We were able to quickly identify the suspect thanks to our partners at the Marion Police Department and apprehend him following a thorough investigation. Public safety remains our highest priority, and we're committed to ensuring our community feels secure and respected."
