Marion Police Probe Mysterious Vehicle Death

MARION (WBSM) — An investigation is underway after an elderly man was found deceased in his vehicle in Marion this morning.

Marion Police Responded to Front Street Scene

According to a release from Marion Police, officers responded at about 8:30 a.m. to 350 Front Street for a report of an unresponsive man inside a vehicle.

They arrived a short time later and determined the 76-year-old man inside the vehicle was deceased. His identity was not released.

Authorities Say Foul Play Is Not Suspected

Police said that based on preliminary investigation, foul play is not suspected.

Plymouth County Investigation Remains Active

The death remains under investigation by the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner took custody of the body and will determine the cause and manner of death.

The Victims in the New Bedford Highway Murders

The New Bedford highway murders took place in 1988, with the bodies discovered into 1989. The killer is confirmed to have killed nine women and suspected of murdering at least two more. Although there were at least three different men considered as suspects by the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, the murders remain unsolved and the families of the victims are still searching for closure.
