The woman had gone into the Carver police station on Wednesday, August 13 at about 7:37 p.m. to report she had been shot while walking her dog at Sampson Pond. Duphily said the investigation led to Delman being identified as the suspect, and a warrant for his arrest was issued by the Wareham District Court on Wednesday, August 20.
Delman had already been in custody since the afternoon of August 14 in connection with a shooting in the town of Dennis that occurred just a few hours after the woman was shot in Carver.

Dennis Shooting Occurs Hours Later
According to a Dennis Police Facebook post, a 911 call was received on August 13 at about 9:05 p.m. “reporting the sound of a loud bang followed by a male party crying and limping” in the parking lot of the Pier 134 Commons on Route 134 in South Dennis.
Officers arrived to find a man who had been shot in the leg. He was taken to Cape Cod Hospital for injuries that were not life-threatening.
“Over the course of the investigation it was determined that the shooting was intentional and the male party was shot by a relative,” Dennis Police wrote.
The next day, Dennis Police detectives took Edwards, who they identified as Anthony Alan Delman-Edwards, into custody. He was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury, discharge of a firearm within 500 feet of a building, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, and firearms violation with two prior violent or drug crimes.
They said he was arraigned without bail in Orleans District Court and ordered held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing that was set for August 19.
Duphily said he will be arraigned in Wareham District Court at a later date for the charges in the Carver shooting.
Police Praise Interagency Cooperation
"This case was an excellent example of good, solid police work and cooperation between agencies, which has resulted in the arrest of a violent person willing to shoot a pregnant woman," Duphily said.
