CARVER (WBSM) — Police are investigating after a woman was reportedly shot at Sampson Pond in Carver Wednesday evening.
Carver Police Chief Marc Duphily said a woman came into the police station on August 13 at about 7:37 p.m. reporting she had been shot at the pond. She had reportedly been walking her dog there at the time of the shooting.
Duphily said officers observed what appeared to be a gunshot wound to her leg.

Massachusetts Agencies Assist Search Effort
Police searched the area where the shooting took place, with assistance from the Massachusetts State Police Air Wing unit, the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit, and a Rochester Police drone.
Police Say Incident Was Not Random
Duphily said the preliminary investigation suggests that this was not a random act, and that there is no ongoing threat to the public.
