BARNSTABLE (WBSM) — A Centerville woman has been arrested for the alleged murder of a man in Barnstable.

According to Cape & Islands District Attorney Robert J. Galibois, the woman – Juscelene Guedes, 29 – was arrested in the murder of a 33-year-old man.

Barnstable Police responded to a 911 call reporting a crash in the area of the TD Bank in Hyannis on June 26 at about 7:19 p.m. Upon arrival, they found one of the occupants of the vehicle had an apparent stab wound to his chest.

The victim was transported to Cape Cod Hospital in critical condition, and Galibois said that at 8:36 p.m., doctors determined he was no longer able to be resuscitated. His identity was not released by the D.A.'s Office.

Guedes, who was a passenger in the same vehicle as the victim, was arrested and charged with murder and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (knife).

The D.A.’s Office said Guedes will be arraigned this morning in Barnstable District Court.

The homicide was investigated by Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the Cape & Islands District Attorney’s Office and the Barnstable Police Department.
