Carlos Felix isn't afraid to speak his mind when it comes to issues facing city residents.

While speaking on "The Taylor Cormier Show," he says that's a major contribution he can bring to the City Council if he's successful in winning a seat as Councilor at Large.

"There are issues and concerns in the city and I bring it up, to my own demise sometimes, but I think it's important that the citizens be aware and we get pepole like the mayor and the City Council talking about it and involved," Felix said.

Felix also addressed the city's "Problem Properties" ordinance and noted that it still needs to be reworked.

He says the way the ordinance is structured is ineffective and he plans to bring it back up for discussion if elected to the council.

"They removed the teeth of this ordinance," Felix said. "They had the opportunity to make this one of the strongest ordinances to combat blight in New Bedford and these absentee landlord problem homes."

Felix is part of a field of eleven candidates seeking an at large seat. One candidate will be eliminated on Oct. 6th as a result of the preliminary election.
