Police in Hawthorne, California are in a bit of hot water, after video of them fatally shooting a dog surfaced online. The dogs owner says that he is glad the video is up so people can see what happened. 

According to an NBC affiliate out of Southern California, the dogs owner, Leon Rosby, was being arrested for what police are saying was interfering with a police officer.  Rosby says that he was video taping to police to 'make sure no one's civil rights were being violated'.

Rosby's dog, Max, was being put into a car but escaped out of an open window. he ran back to his owner, and that's when police shot and killed the dog. The police say they were afraid the dog would attack them, and had no choice.
