Burned Body Found in Wooded Area of Attleboro
ATTLEBORO - Attleboro Police, Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the district attorney's office and prosecutors are actively investigating the discovery of a body in the City of Attleboro during the early morning hours today.
An Attleboro Police Officer patrolling the area of Prescott Street around 2:50 A.M. discovered a burned body. The male victim was discovered in a small wooded area on Prescott Street.
The Medical Examiner's Office was called to the scene and has taken custody of the deceased. An autopsy will be conducted later today.
At this time, the death is considered to be suspicious. The identity of the deceased is unknown at this time.
Once further information about the death or the victim's identity can be disseminated, this office will send out a follow up media advisory.
