Authorities say a 19-year-old Brockton man has drowned in a Plymouth pond.

The body of Jared Marshall was recovered from the pond at Ellis Haven Campground just after 6 p.m. Sunday.

Police received a 911 call just before 5:15 p.m. reporting that a swimmer had gone down underwater and had not resurfaced.

Marshall's family members and girlfriend who were on scene and witnessed the drowning said he had gone in the water to retrieve a float from the pond.

A spokesman for the district attorney's office says the death is not considered suspicious but remains under investigation.
