Brockton Teen Arrested for Allegedly Shooting Easton Girl in the Face
UPDATE: Lopes was held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing scheduled for February 7.
TAUNTON (WBSM) — A suspect in the shooting of a 16-year-old girl in Easton earlier this month is being arraigned this afternoon in Taunton District Court.
Anthony Lopes, 18, of Brockton was arrested earlier today on charges of assault and battery by discharging a firearm, carrying a firearm without a license, possession of a high-capacity firearm, and armed robbery.
The charges stem from an incident on January 14, when a 16-year-old girl from Easton was found by police suffering from a gunshot wound to the face in the Avalon Easton apartment complex.

Police said the victim remains in serious but stable condition in a Boston-area hospital.
The investigation led police to secure a warrant for Lopes’ arrest this morning, and he was later taken into custody in Brockton by Easton Police detectives with assistance from Brockton Police and Massachusetts State Police.
Police said the investigation remains active and ongoing.
Lopes was previously arraigned on gun charges before police were able to connect him to the Easton shooting.
