Mass Gaming and Entertainment has moved one step closer in their bid to build a casino in Brockton.

John Ziemba, the Ombudsman for the Massachusetts Gaming Commission informed commissioners on Thursday that they have received an RFA 2 application from the company.

He says they are now awaiting consent agreements from the surrounding communities.

"Those communities will need to provide a letter to the Commission, assenting to this status," said Ziemba "we'll be in communication with communities just to remind them that they just need to assent to that status through an e-mail or letter to the Commission, so we'll get that done in the upcoming days."

Mass Gaming and Entertainment will then have ten days to submit a response to those agreements.

Janice Reilly, the Commission's Chief of Staff, told Commissioners on thursday that they are now moving forward with the next step in the review process which is an Administrative Completeness Review which could take up to seven to ten days.

This follows the Initial Baseline Review which Reilly says was completed Wednesday.

Reilly says that part of the application will be available at the Commission's website.
