Bourne Man Indicted for Alleged Assault on Two Juvenile Girls
A Bourne man has been indicted by a grand jury for allegedly making sexual advances toward and touching two juvenile girls.
According to Cape & Islands District Attorney Robert Galibois, Jeffrey Burgess, 60, was indicted on three counts of assault and battery, one count of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14, and two counts of enticing a child under 16.
The charges relate to an incident on August 7, when at approximately 2:05 p.m. Bourne Police were called to the Electric Avenue beach after Burgess allegedly approached two underage girls there.
Burgess allegedly made sexual advances toward the girls and tried to persuade them to go into a wooded area near the beach. He then allegedly touched both girls on their hands and arms and touched one of them with his tongue.
He remains in custody and is being held on bail.
