Acushnet Firefighters To Be Honored For Bravery

Firefighters from across the state are being honored Thursday for their bravery and heroism.  The 24th annual Firefighter of the Year Awards will be handed out at the Mass. Institute of Technology. 

Among those in line for awards are three firefighters from Acushnet.  Tom Farland, Adam Hebert and Paul Frysinger last January carried out a dramatic rescue of a woman from a burning home.  The woman suffered serious injuries, but was med-flighted to Rhode Island Hospital and survived.  

Acushnet Fire Chief Kevin Gallagher had words of praise for his department......

Governor Patrick will hand out awards for Valor, Meritorius Conduct, and Community Service.
