PLYMOUTH — The man accused of killing his estranged wife in Marshfield earlier this week has been sent to a psychiatric hospital for a 20-day evaluation.

Allen Warner's attorney requested the evaluation by a court psychologist before a judge on Wednesday. Warner's arraignment is being postponed until the evaluation is completed.  Meantime, he is ordered held without bail.

The 47-year-old Rockland man is charged with murder after police found his soon-to-be ex-wife suffering from a gunshot wound to the face in her car on a road in Marshfield on Monday evening. Before her death, Shana Warner, 48, called police to report that her estranged husband was following her.

Allen Warner evaded capture Monday night and most of the day Tuesday before he was arrested in Whitman.
