He seemed to appear out of nowhere, and started what some may call a "mini-revival" in Greater New Bedford. Malvin "Mel" Larsen, dubbed "Fairhaven Jesus" by those who saw him along the Route 6 corridor, was very visible in the summer months of 2014, making it a point to talk to as many people as he could about his personal testimony and his relationship with Jesus Christ.

To some, he was a breath of fresh air. To others, he was a controversial troublemaker. But no matter what he was to you, he was certainly the talk of the town for quite some time.

It's the second coming....kind of.

A man dressed in the likeness of Jesus Christ was spotted again in Fairhaven Friday, after making an initial appearance Wednesday in front of Fairhaven High School on Route 6.

The man behind the beard and the crown of thorns is Malvin "Mel" Larsen, from Fairhaven. Larsen stopped by WBSM's studios Friday afternoon, and says he wants people to talk with him.

Mel says he was called to serve in the ministry at a very young age, claiming to have met Jesus several times.

He says while his story may sound unbelievable, he assured listeners he's not crazy.
