Update: More Info On Fairhaven Boat Fire

Firefighters from both Fairhaven and New Bedford worked together to douse a boat fire early Thursday afternoon at the Moby Dick marina off River Avenue.  Fairhaven Fire Department spokesman Wayne Olivera tells WBSM News, firefighters responded quickly and found a 30 foot sailboat on fire.....

  Smoke from the fire could be seen from several miles away.  Oliveira said the boat was destroyed.  He said damage to the sailboat and another vessel was estimated at around $10,000.  Oliveira says investigators talked with the boat owner, Danial Kim of Newton .  He said he was varnishing on the vessel and was using a propane heater to dry the varnish and keep warm.  He left the marina about a half hour before the fire was reported.
