Fall River Woman Sent To Prison For Abusing Foster Child

A Fall River woman was sentenced to 8 to 10 years in State prison on Wednesday, after a Superior Court jury found her guilty of deliberately burning a foster child she was caring for. 

Police say the incident happened in 2009 at Kelly O'Brien's Walnut Street  home in Fall River

Taunton Man Found Guilty Of Murder In Highway Shooting

A Fall River Superior Court jury has found a Taunton man guilty of first degree murder, in the May, 2009, Route 24 shooting of 29-year old Troy Pina, also of Taunton. 

27-year old Jose Fernandes was also found guilty of three counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, three counts of armed assault with intent to murder, and one count of unlawful possession of a firearm

Civil Rights Groups Seek Probe Into Police Shooting Of New Bedford Teen

Representatives of several civil rights organizations will hold a news conference in New Bedford on Monday to discuss the Police shooting last May of 15 year old Malcom Gracia.  Police say the shooting came after Gracia had stabbled a Police detective multiple times, near Kempton and Cedar streets
