Members of the Acushnet Board of Selectmen are looking to hold down the cost of a new police station, planned for a site off Middle Road.  Kaestle Boos Architects unveiled plans Monday night for a station. Almost double the size of the present location at the Parting Ways Building.  Selectman David Wojnar beleives the time for a new station is now.

But Wojnar says Acushnet wants to build a police station as cost-effective as possible.  He says the board will study the proposal and look for ways to keep the project around six million dollars or less.  The board is hoping to present the station plan to town meeting on October 22nd.
