The Sixth Annual Harvest Big Blast will take place at the Henry B. Burkland Elementary School in Middleboro on October 28, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The Henry B. Burkland School is located at 41 Mayflower Ave. and the event is mostly for families with students in elementary school.  The event is open to the public and all families are welcome.

According to South Coast Today.com, the Harvest Big Blast will feature a jack-o-lantern decorating contest, crafts, tattoos, and face painting, free carnival games, a cake-walk, a Wheel of Misfortune game, costumes, prizes, a mini-golf hallway, and food.

The Harvest Big Blast is a fundraiser for the school, and the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) works hard to raise funds to support Burkland's Best Programs.  These programs include anything from the school store, the Burkland’s Best Beads, educational and cultural assemblies, and even in-class educational programs such as the Brian Lies Program.

All community businesses and organizations who would like to be a sponsor at this event are welcome to join.  For those who wish to contribute their time as a volunteer, or become a sponsor, are asked to contact Jen McKee at vballjen24@msn.com.
