I have to admit that I do. But we're not alone. In a new survey, 45% of people admit that they've used phone calls, texts, emails or social media to communicate with someone that is in the very same house. The reason I do it is that it's usually dinner time and one or more of the kids are in their rooms with headphones on or they are glued to a television or laptop. I'd much rather text than yell up the stairs. This survey found that 22% of people say they would rather use their phone to communicate with people than to have to see them face-to-face. I find that worrisome. Here's to hoping we don't turn in to a society that hides in dark corners and just communicates with our thumbs.
