BOSTON – A former Boston College student is facing manslaughter charges in connection with the suicide of her boyfriend.

Speaking in Boston, Suffolk County District Attorney Rachel Rollins said it was clear that 21-year-old Inyoung You was "physically, verbally and psychologically abusive" after investigating her phone conversations with 22-year-old Alexander Urtula.

Rollins said You tracked her boyfriend's location and was present at the parking garage when he leaped to his death. Rollins said there were thousands of instances where You instructed her boyfriend to take his own life.

The involuntary manslaughter charge is the same one Michelle Carter was convicted of in 2017 in connection with her boyfriend's suicide, a case that drew national attention.
