Getting ready for the holidays is already a frantic time, so why make things difficult in the kitchen? At least some some of your side dishes should be easy to make! That's why I love this yummy Cranberry Sauce that seems to go perfectly with every holiday meal.

PREP TIME: 5 minutes

COOK TIME: 15 minutes

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 4 cups (1 12-oz package) fresh or frozen cranberries

DIRECTIONS

  1. Rinse cranberries in a colander, picking out any damaged or bruised berries. Mix water and sugar in a medium saucepan over high heat and bring to a boil. Stir until sugar dissolves.
  2. Add cranberries to pot and return to a boil. Lower heat and simmer for 10 minutes or until most of the cranberries have burst.
  3. Remove the pot from heat and allow cranberry sauce to cool completely. Transfer to a bowl and chill in the refrigerator. The sauce will thicken as it cools.

YIELDS: Cranberry sauce makes 2 1/4 cups.
