Jack Peterson, AKA Captain Jack, is one of WBSM's most versatile personalities. Jack is equally at home doing the play by play of high school football and basketball, gathering, writing and broadcasting news, or filling in for WBSM talk show hosts. A 51 year broadcast veteran, Jack started his career in Lowell, MA as a DJ and has been on the air in New Bedford for the past 34 years. He has also been Master of Ceremonies at many local charity events including the United Way awards banquet, Special Olympics and the Otto Graham and Dave Cowens Achievement Awards. His hobbies include sports (watching, not playing), reading and the entertainment industry. Jack has lived in New Bedford with his wife of 28 years, Lynne (AKA 1st Mate Lynnie), with their 11 year old Beagle/Foxhound/Pointer/Lab mix dog, Chloe .

Bridgewater State President Is Stepping Down
Bridgewater State University will be loooking for a new president. Current president Dr. Dana Mohler-Faria is reportedly stepping down at the end of the 2014-15 academic year. Mohler-Faria, who is an Onset native, has also served as the chairman of the superintendent search committee for the New Bedford public schools.

Police Investigate Rochester Accident
Rochester Police responded to a single car roll over Tuesday night just north of Neck Road. Police say the car rounded a slight curve in the road, then ran off the road, became airborne, sheared off a telephone pole and rolled over, ejecting two of three passengers.

A Hundred Million Dollars In Unclaimed Property
The state says its newest update to the unclaimed property list in Massachusetts has 45,000 new listings owed a total of $100 million. State Treasurer Steve Grossman says those numbers cover only the last six months. He said the new list includes people who may not know they are beneficiaries of unclaimed insurance policies the state discovered in a recent audit of major insurance companies.

Mumps At Curry College
Students at Curry College have been notified that a recent visitor to the Milton campus is believed to have the mumps virus. The person was at the campus between February 14th and 19th.
