The Fort Taber-Fort Rodman Military Museum in New Bedford is hosting its 8th annual World War II Living History program this weekend.

Organizer Robert Bromley says its a salute to the "Greatest Generation" that earned historic victories over Germany and Japan.

Battle reenactments will be held both days, and military equipment from that era will be on display.

Bromley says the public will have the chance to hear from people who were on the battlefields.  "Every year we have a lot of World War II veterans that come and watch and interact," said Bromley, "so the public has a good chance of seeing history come alive and talking with a person who lived right through that history."

The event runs from 9 to 4 on Saturday and 9-to-3 on Sunday and is free and open to the public.
