Westport Crash Victim Identified

Westport Police have identified the woman killed in a two-car crash Friday night on Route Six.

Police say the victim was 73-year old Geraldine Correia of Dartmouth.  She was ejected from her car after it was struck from behind by a second car around 6:25 Friday night.  She was pronounced dead a short time later at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River.

The driver of the second car, 62 year old Robert Hansen was arrested and charged with motor vehicle homicide and driving under the influence of alcohol, and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.

Hansen is being held on $50,000 bail and will be arraigned Monday in Fall River District Court.

Police say the crash happened on the westbound side of Route Six, near 1005 State Road.
