State funds are being made available for a conservation project in West Wareham.

The Baker-Polito Administration announced on Monday that a $42,000 Conservation District Innovation Grant is being awarded to help fund the development of a pollinator habitat demonstration site located at the USDA/NRCS Service Center.

The Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs says the goal of the project is to provide educational and training opportunities for farmers throughout the region.

Officials say the total area is roughly a half acre of native vegetation.

An additional $42,000 in grant funding was also given to continue work on the Cape Cod Water Resources Restoration Project Plan.

As a result of the grant existing projects will be inspected and inventoried and the implementation of remaining projects will be prioritized.

The grants are part of $250,000 total in grant funding that was provided for eight conservation districts located throughout the Commonwealth through the 2014 Environmental Bond Bill, and distributed by the Division of Conservation Services’ State Commission for Conservation of Soil, Water & Related Resources within the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs.
