WAREHAM — A West Wareham man faces multiple charges in connection to a hit and run crash involving a pedestrian on Monday.

On Tuesday at about 7:30 p.m., Wareham Police officers James White and Kyle Gomes observed a red Ford F-150 truck with damage to its passenger side mirror in the area of Narrows Bridge. The truck and the damage matched the description of the vehicle that had reportedly struck a woman on Marion Road the night before. The suspect vehicle fled the scene before police arrived.

The officers conducted a traffic stop of the truck and determined the driver, Paul Randon, 63, of West Wareham, was impaired. Randon was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.

Randon was questioned by detectives at Wareham Police Headquarters in connection to the crash on Monday night. As part of that investigation, Randon will face additional charges for leaving the scene, according to police.
