Amazon.com is offering refunds to customers whose packages haven't been delivered on time by UPS.

Many customers around the world didn't have Christmas presents to open Wednesday morning because the shipping company said it had been overwhelmed by the high volume of packages.

Amazon has responded by offering refunds to affected customers along with 20-dollar gift cards.

UPS says customers awaiting deliveries should get their packages on Thursday or Friday.  Those with delivery guarantees will get appropriate refunds. (Metro Networks Inc.)
