UMass Dartrmouth Begins New Year With Convocation

Returning students and first-year freshmen are making their way around the UMass Dartmouth campus as classes begin.

Some 1,500 freshmen were invited to a Convocation Ceremony on Monday, and received some advice from Chancellor Divina Grossman.

The chancellor also met with University officials earlier to discuss "Transform 2020" a new strategic plan that Grossman says will position the University for transformation, growth and prosperity.

The goal is to bring UMass Dartmouth to formal doctoral research university status over the next six years.
