DARTMOUTH (WBSM) — Dartmouth Police recently arrested three Boston men for allegedly breaking into a Dartmouth resident’s vehicle and committing credit card fraud after stealing a wallet from the car.

Incident at Walgreens: How the Fraud Unfolded

On Friday, October 12 at about 9:23 a.m., Dartmouth Police responded to the Walgreens at 495 State Road for a reported breaking and entering into a motor vehicle. The victim said his vehicle had been broken into overnight with several items stolen, including his wallet and multiple credit cards.

Police said the victim later learned one of his stolen credit cards was used at Walgreens to purchase about $1,800 in Visa gift cards. Store security footage showed three males using the stolen card.

Suspects Identified and Arrested at UMass Dartmouth

Dartmouth Police then responded to the UMass Dartmouth campus to assist campus police with a trespassing incident. Officer Nicholas Barnes, who had responded to the Walgreens incident, recognized three individuals involved in the trespassing call as being the same suspects on the Walgreens security footage.

Charges Filed Against the Three Boston Men

The three suspects, all from Boston, were taken into custody without incident. Police said that some of the victim’s property was recovered from one of the suspects.

Raudy Ramirez-Valdez, 18, was charged with receiving stolen property over $1,200, credit card fraud over $1,200, conspiracy to commit credit card fraud, and being a person under 21 in possession of liquor.

Emmanuel Joseph, 19, was charged with trespassing, credit card fraud over $1,200, and conspiracy to commit credit card fraud.

Musa Fofana, 19, was charged with trespassing, credit card fraud over $1,200, and conspiracy to commit credit card fraud.

All three were scheduled to be arraigned in New Bedford District Court.
