So, when President Trump called out Congressman Elijah Cummings (D-Maryland) for his hypocrisy regarding conditions at detention centers at the U.S-Mexico border the race card, always at the ready, was immediately thrown by Democrats and their mouthpieces in the media. What an evil dude that Trump is.

The truth of the matter is that living conditions in Baltimore, which is located at the heart of Cummings' 7th Maryland Congressional District, are far worse than anything the detainees face in the temporary holding facilities. Far worse. Not even close. The conditions in Baltimore are as bad if not worse than the conditions the migrants from Central America are fleeing.

Cummings and other Democrats who represent hell holes like Baltimore, which is predominantly black, do little but promise change. They've been doing it for decades without delivering yet they keep getting re-elected. Todd Starnes writes for Fox.com: " In 2015 the Washington Post reported that the average life expectancy in some of the city’s poorest neighborhoods is nearly 20 years below the national average."

“Fourteen Baltimore neighborhoods have lower life expectancies than North Korea,” the Washington Post reported. “Eight are doing worse than Syria.”

And Cummings has some sort of moral authority to blast the Border Patrol and Trump? And when you've got nothing else, throw the race card.

Trump responded on Twitter to Cummings' criticism of conditions at the border: "Rep. Elijah Cummings has been a brutal bully, shouting and screaming at the great men & women of Border Patrol about conditions at the Southern Border, when actually his Baltimore district is FAR WORSE and more dangerous. His district is considered the Worst in the USA."

Trump didn't stop there, saying Cummings’ district is "a disgusting, rat and rodent-infested mess.”

Trump is not alone in his assessment of Baltimore. In 2015, Democrat presidential contender Bernie Sanders said conditions there mirrored those of a "third world" country. Baltimore's black Democrat Mayor Catherine Pugh was heard on a Fox 45 news video last year echoing Trump's sentiments with statements like “What the hell? We should just take all this [expletive] down. Whoa, you can smell the rats," “Whew, Jesus" and “Oh, my God, you can smell the rats."

PBS and the BBC have done features on Baltimore's high crime and murder rates, poor education attainment level and the general filthiness of the city. PBS actually ran a documentary last year called Rat Film about Baltimore's rodent problem.

Decades worth of empty promises by Democrat politicians and it takes Trump one tweet to bring national attention to the plight of the poor souls in Baltimore who for some reason still think Trump is the bad guy.

Al Sharpton is in Baltimore today to suck some publicity out of all of this for himself, and you can bet Trump will get the blame for what ails Baltimore and other urban centers that have been run into the ground by decades of Democrat leadership.

Trump is not looking for glory, just results. Historically low unemployment rates for blacks, tax cuts, Enterprise Zones, criminal justice reform and now Trump is using his pulpit to force Democrats to defend their neglect of these urban hell holes.

Trump is the best friend black America has ever had in the White House. Too bad black America won't see it.
