On Friday, Nov. 11, from 6 to 9 p.m., True Grit Art Gallery in Middleboro Center will be hosting an opening reception and fundraiser to kick off their Veterans Day themed art exhibit “Sacrifice: The Cause And Effect.”

According to South Coast Today.com, the event will feature artwork and photography from area veterans as well as non-veterans who wish to participate. Tickets for this event are $10 each and can be purchased at the gallery location or by calling 774-419-4160.

There will be live music, an open wine and beer bar, hot and cold appetizers, and a 50/50 raffle in addition to the art exhibit on display. All proceeds from the event will be split between two Massachusetts-based veterans’ charities - Homes For Our Troops and Boston’s Wounded Vet Run.

“Sacrifice: The Cause And Effect” will be on display from the night of the reception thru December 3rd. It is free admission to view the exhibit during regular hours and the True Grit Art Gallery is located at 38 Center St. in Middleboro Center. Regular hours are Tuesdays thru Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“This exhibit is open to both veterans and non-veterans alike. Artwork should in some way reflect the service and/or sacrifice of American Military Veterans. Interested artists should submit images of up to three available artworks in any two-dimensional (paintings, drawings, photography) or three-dimensional (sculpture, assemblage) media they please to truegritartgallery@gmail.com or via direct Facebook message. Please include a short bio along with a short artist’s statement indicating what the works mean to you and how they fit with the theme of the exhibit.”
