City Councilor Bruce Duarte and Economic Development Director Matt Morrissey shared their experiences visiting two seaside wind turbine staging areas in Germany, and meeting with businesses involved in wind energy.

Morrissey says European nations and companies want to help New Bedford's growth in the industry.

Councilor Duarte says a key to the Terminal's success is having a local labor force with the needed skills.

The city is working with Bristol Community College and other partners to set up those specialized training programs. The Marine Commerce Terminal is expected to be a staging area for Cape Wind and other offshore turbine projects, when its completed in 2015.
